During the Falkland war Ed Kalna received orders (copy posted in customer service area) from the British Navy Staff in Washington D.C. on 23 August 1991, to perform Air Conditioning and Refrigeration repairs on the HMS Otter , HMS Oakleaf and other vessels. He was chosen through the U.S. Navy department through his service as a top trouble shooter in the U.S. submarine service, (SUBLANT)

Captain Dave Erwin of the S/Y De Vroe Christina in 2005 contracted Ed Kalna to rework a problems new chill water system. Capt. Dave, in May 2010 commissioned Ener-Tech to replace all Air Conditioning systems in his new boat S/Y Marlena F in 2010.  The Glacier Bay refrigeration system was removed from the boat and underwent a major service.
